Visiting an elder is not charity. It is worship with a name.
Islam names the act and names its reward: silat al-rahim extends life and provision. This campaign organizes it — weekly visits and friendship calls to elders, in our home and across the community.
Volunteers commit to one weekly visit — to a resident without regular family visits, or to an isolated elder in their own neighborhood identified through our home-visits program. Training and matching provided.
Can't visit? Adopt a weekly phone call — modeled on the UK's Silver Line, which proved a simple weekly conversation measurably reduces loneliness. Fifteen minutes. Same elder. Every week.
